Becoming a Yoga Instructor

Getting your yoga certification: Yoga is a great practice that one person enjoys. Why not spread that out to other people? Of course, you have to get a certain type of training to become certified, so search out for the best. With anything, lifestyle changes and so do techniques. It's always great become aware of new styles of teaching along with the old ones so you have a great foundation. Find different places via Google or phone books to help you find training locations near you. Why Become a Yoga Instructor? Some people do it for the pure sake of helping others and growing within themselves. For others, it is a way of starting up a home business of their own and they call the shots. Despite the reasons, it is a lot of hard work, but very fulfilling when you really get the ball rolling. Setting Yoga as a part time job will help also encourage their own fitness, which is a great balance to have in life. If you have a desire to help people learn than teaching yoga is a great goal to obtain. There are physical classes which are a bit more traditional or online classes. Using technology such as Skype or live web streams definitely help as far as getting a visual aid. However, you must make sure that the training is on a level that is standard for more typical means of Yoga instruction. Requirements In the US, you must complete a training regimen that fulfills the requirements of the Yoga Alliance. You can choose to complete one or two different training sessions. The 200 hour course or the 500 hour one, many students take one at a time while working and gaining experience. Once you have successfully completed these courses you are allowed to use RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher), after your name. Bikram, Vinyasa, or Ashtanga, or Hatha Yoga can be a style of focus. Either one is fine, and you can check online for Alliances. Cost of getting training/certification Depending on who teaches you, you'll find that you can get these classes done cheaply or at a more expensive rate. Think of it like this....you go to top notch 4 year school and obviously you'll get more out of it than a regular in-state University. The best method of training is to take one of the Yoga Alliance training courses. The cost for these runs around $3,000 for the 200 hour program. After successfully completing the course you will be certified and this is something that many students of yoga are looking for today. With this type of training at your disposal, you can build your own studio and teach there, become a private tutor to clients, and more endless opportunities. By teaching hungry students the right way of doing things, you'll in turn build them into teachers who can become managers in case you expand your schools. It's a very lucrative way of thinking down the line.
